For the last two weeks, I’ve been taking the beginning quilting class with my friend Dawn. Only with a twist – I’m doing more challenging blocks. As you can see there are a lot of pieces and it’s kind fussy to get them all lined up, but it’s really rewarding and a lot of fun.
There was major cursing on block one. I also realized with my O2 foot I would need to move the foot over to 4.0. Where with the new clear foot I bought I can leave it on 3.5 to get a scant seam. So block one is a little off, but there will be sashing, so it shouldn’t be too bad.
Block 2 now was much easier. I also start doing some basting on these big block before sewing them down the final time. I found my seams get bang on much easier. Since there are so many pieces, I’m going to get my blocks cut out in advance of the class this week, so I can just sit and sew block 3.
