So the past week and a half my dear husband has been on the other side of the globe from me, so if you’re seeing periodic posting and wow a bunch – don’t be alarmed – this week should start to get back to normal. It was really rough without him here, but work is work, so I have to suck it up when he has to go.
The best part of his travels was that I was bestowed with many lovely things from his trip.
First he went to Thailand where I asked for a piece of rose quartz – he gave me this hand carved piece.
After a few days in Bangkok he went on to Tokyo and other areas in Japan. I asked for few things – one was this Daruma.
I also have a love of Hello Kitty – which dates back 30+ years and was available at a local Crowley’s department store (which is now closed) and sold in the kids section. I still have pieces from those days. He indulged me and I still don’t know where I will hang it.
I also requested Jade – these two pieces are just beautiful.
The Mankei Neko for good luck and the turtle to symbolize long life.
He also bestowed a beautiful Mankei Neko tea set, which has also gone into my special cabinet.
Finally he visited a wood carver and bought these beautiful charms and the little bowls, which I thought were for tea bags, but they are to set your tea cups in. I set the whole set up in the cabinet together.
Anyway as you can tell, I was complete spoiled, but I’m most happy to have him home with me again.
Oh… I also promised a picture of the flowers he sent me for Valentine’s day. I thought they were stargazers, but they are actually Lombardia Lilies, which are pale pink. The smell so incredible – what a treat.
