Blocking

So there’s not much new to report.  Still working out in the yard.  Spent 2 more hours out there in 80-degree heat.  I know… I’ve lost my mind.  I’m trying to find some joy in gardening.  I know some people really enjoy this – I may just not be one of them.  I like going to look at gardens, I like planting and picking the veggies.  I hate cleaning out the beds and putting it right for summer.  I’m trying to convince myself that it’s only hard now because it got away from us, but now that we’re on a schedule it’s going to be great and tidy and not that much work in the future.  Maybe.

I did finish La La Shawl.  Here is the blocking photo…

and the artsy photo.

Sophie my beloved pooch of 12, going on 13, is on some new special meds and has been for about a week now.  I’m hoping they are doing some good, but she was hard pressed to get out of bed, (yes the sofa – she’s earned it) this morning.

Sophie doesn't feel like getting up today 5-19-2009 6-27-15 AM

She hasn’t been the ideal patient and has been fussy about her food.  I finally coaxed her to eat breakfast by hiding a strip of bacon at the bottom.  It did the trick.  She also ate well tonight, but she worries me.  Let’s keep our finger’s crossed the bacon keeps working and these meds start doing their thing.

  • Sophie looks very comfortable! Just a thought: when my dog gets too picky about his food I mix in a couple of tablespoons of Solid Gold Green Tripe. Another thing that makes food more appealing is some desiccated lamb liver, crushed and sprinkled over it.

  • She does look so comfy there. I’m suffering in the gardening heat with you- deadheading and cleaning up today and hoping to get the rest of that blasted mulch off the driveway and into the garden somewhere! Next round of guests arrive tomorrow 🙂
