Thanks to everyone for the comments on the new car. I’m very excited and when I was doing laundry today I kept peeking at it. I love the blue – it’s called Indigo. Perfect for my fiber loving self. This is my first new blue car. I’ve had two silver’s now, so some color was necessary. I’ve had two reds. So it’s nice to do something different for a change. Anyway I loved my minivan, but it was starting to get really old and having some costly repairs coming up. Not to mention the already costly maintenance it was getting into. Since I was still paying on it and gas is getting higher and higher, it was time to do a trade in. I love how it drives. Very sporty and since it’s a hatch back I can still get cages and a lot of my crap in. Since Monsieur Purl drives a bigger car now too, I wasn’t too worried anymore about getting all the cats in at once. Plus, since he has been saying we are not moving any time soon, I hope I won’t have to worry at all about that.
Funny thing did happen at the dealer. It has plastic on the back of the passenger seat. I figured to put your laptop on. Especially since it has a plug in for a laptop. Well, the salesman was reviewing the features with us and he said “do you have kids?” He thought it would be a great place for changing a nappy. (lol) My husband cracks up at this point and I get a horrified look on my face and said “G*d, let’s hope that never happens.” Husband says something to the effect of “I don’t think we’ll see any nappy changing in her car, ever.” (lol) We had a really good laugh about that later, especially since I don’t think I’ve ever even changed a nappy before.
Anyway – onto some fiber stuff.
I finally finished the last of the carding on the red. Whew! Time to start my blues and greens.
Also – here is the small skein of the fire that I spun this week.
It will make a great neck warmer, but not enough for my beret. Maybe the red. Oh well, there is no fiber shortage around here. Plus not spending as much on the car thing anymore, should help to make sure I never see a fiber shortage in this life time.
