Dye Party

One of the local yarn shops here – The Yarn Sellar – hosted Dye Part 2007. I did the teaching enabling and brought all the supplies and for a small fee each person got to dye 2 skeins of fingering-weight yarn. Enough to make 2 pairs of socks or about 420 yards each. It was a blast. I didn’t get pictures of everyone dyeing or their yarn, but there were some gorgeous skeins produced. Everyone did something different, with 25 unique colors mixed up – it wasn’t hard, and there were also a few experimentations.

I also think our only incident was we may have dyed the toilet seat cover a bit while rinsing. Not too bad. 🙂

We did 15 skeins – because I did one, but I still have ton of dye left. So looks like I can make up a bunch more and dye some roving as well. Now with my new lightening in my studio I’ll be able to see what I’m doing.
