Fleece Time

A box was sitting on the porch yesterday and I just knew what was in it – fleeces!!! Let me just start off by saying Spinderella’s did my roving again and did a beautiful job. Just gorgeous. Again super quick turn around time – about 3 weeks during the busy season and this time I sent the fleeces unwashed. I’m not affiliated in anyway, but if you need a great fleece processor you can trust Lynn and Jim.

As I brought my fleeces in the house, I stopped by the mailbox when I found my new Spin Off in the box. Whohoo – perfect timing to make a good mail day.

Here is Lucy’s Fleece – a 75% Blueface and 25%Border Leicester –

Here is Pia’s Fleece – a Cormo/Romney mix, which is my favorite and I swear needs to be a new sheep breed. The softness of the Cormo tempered with the strength of the Romney. Yum.

And if you haven’t seen it yet a great tutorial in Spin Off about dyeing roving and getting self striping sock yarn. Delightful and I must try.

Also as you see me knit my dyed sock yarn – head over to Debbi’s blog and she the sock she is knitting from her hand dyed sock yarn – that is really turning out gorgeous.

  • I think it looks lovely too. Now if only I could get myself together to get the skills to be able to work with fleece like that!

  • I have so much fleece around here, I am seriously thinking of selling off some of it, since I am not in the spinning mood. 🙂
