So this is not about knitting gauge but ordering gauge. As you know I’m really interested in knitting a few hats for children in the family and thought the KnitPicks cotton would be a good place to start – you know not too expensive and totally washable. Plus the gauge seemed right – so why not. The only problem was I couldn’t decide which colors to buy and which hats I wanted to make – or exactly how far the yarn would go, so suddenly I clicked on 2 of everything but black. This showed up.
I say this may make a few hats – what do you think?
Since my click was going I decided hey a couple of books for my collection of crafty books wouldn’t hurt – so in went these. I think the Andean knits – with the totally cute bags would be great for handspun and lets just say – I was in love with the lace in this book when I got it out from the library – so what the heck.
Then a couple of notions, but whats a good click without notions. That little to-go knitting bag – gets rave reviews – so I’ll give it a whirl. Normally my socks end up in my purse with needles poking through the plastic zip-lock so why not.
Finally I’m going to see MIL this week coming and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t have this book – – so I got two – because you know I need to crochet the bunny slippers in this book. I figure she can show me a few things and then I can always hit my friend Jackie up for a few lessons if I’m in need.
So all in all – a good day.
