Is This Summer?

I have to wonder if summer skipped us this year.  I’m getting cucumbers now, but still only green tomatoes.  I fear unless it gets warmer we may be eating a lot of fried green tomatoes soon.

It started off as a rainy day – supposed to be 80-degrees today, but never made it past 72-degrees on my thermometer.  I’m spending the day playing catch up  with errands and house work.  I want to pick up a 2010 Farmers’ Almanac this year and was having a browse on their site.  For the Midwest they predict an early frost in late September – that made me start thinking I need to get my knitting back on the ball.  Sweaters, socks, mittens, hats, stat!

  • It’s definitely been mixed here. The peas didn’t do well at all with this weather nor did the lettuce but this is the best tomatoes or green beans have ever done in my little patch.
