On The Run

Just a drive by update today.  I just got back from listening to Nancy Bush talk about knitting vintage socks and it was fabulous.  We got to see and touch a whole table full of Vintage Socks and Socks on the Road.  I’m taking a class with her tomorrow, so I have to get some rest, but let’s just say she is interesting and generous, with a wealth of information.  We even got treated to a talk about her visit with Tasha Tudor.  We even talked about her shawl inspired by the visit.  The pattern can be found here.  Would this not be absolutely gorgeous in handspun?  I’m adding it to my queue.

I have an update on Chrissy.  I got a call from the vet and she is a good candidate for surgery.  All of her organs are functioning well.  She is losing protein, which makes us think this growth is somehow blocking the intestines.  The thing is she’s not showing any cancer in the blood, so this may be a self-contained mass, it may be a begin tumor growth, or who knows what – maybe the world’s largest hairball?  I’ll get a photo if it is.  Wouldn’t that gross you all out?  🙂

Anyway as you can tell spirits are much better around here.  Chrissy’s spirits are very good.  She doesn’t seem in pain and was even getting back to her old routine by sitting on what I call the “princess pillow” that sits on the sofa next to me when I’m knitting.  Sometimes Coco sits there and sometimes Chrissy.  It’s usually occupied.  Max will on occasion sit there as well.  He’s not the least bit put off by the princess pillow comments.

  • I still think it’s funny that we both have a princess pillow. Wishing Chrissy all the best and a speedy recovery from her surgery.

Glad the news is positive for Chrissy. She looks like a cat my daughter used to have that was such a love.
