That’s a Wrap

Well… Julie and I had a fabulous time at the WI Quilt Expo and the WI Sheep and Wool.  We ended up staying up there and that really helped on not being nearly as worn out.  Although, make no mistake, after all the classes lectures, and shopping… we were still worn out.

The quilts were awesome. It was hard to pick one to vote for Viewers Choice.  This one from Germany had over 40,000 Swarovski crystals and was chosen viewer’s choice.  More quilt photos can be found here.

I bought lots of useful stash.  I tried to think ahead for upcoming projects and when the new Sunshine 16 shows up.  Although it all wasn’t must have items, one of my favorites came at the WI Sheep and Wool, when I picked up this gorgeous bunny shawl pin.

There were also these cute recycled pin cushions, which we had to have as souvenirs.

After a few days recuperating, I got back into gear and sewed a lot this week.  More on that later this week.

  • My pincushion is already in use with my new piecing pins. Love those! Can’t wait to see what you do with all your purchases. Every other year seems to be the perfect pace for me. Hope you’ll save me a spot in 2014.

  • Hi – Did you get your Sunshine 16 in yet? I’ve been considering it – or the HQ Sweet 16 sit down models. If you got it… what do you think so far? I’d love some first hand accounts – other than from the company itself. I haven’t gotten to try it yet. I’m considering driving to TN to go see it next week before going to the GA Quilt Expo where I will buy or leave with a sit down machine 😀
