The Allergic Gardner is Back

Yesterday, we got out early and worked in the garden.  I have a love/hate relationship with gardening.  I love it to look nice, but don’t care for the actual work that is involved.  It doesn’t help that I’m terribly allergic and by yesterday evening on the Benadryl.  I woke up today still covered in hives.  Hopefully they will abate soon.

  • Bless your heart, you sound like me. I do the same thing when I work in the garden. I have to wear long sleeves and pants, otherwise I end up breaking out like crazy. I’ve heard that if you take 1 tbs (or tsp…not sure which) of local honey per day, your outdoor allergies will get better. I figure it’s an easy enough thing to try, so I’m going to try and track some down. 😉

  • Hives are no fun. Maybe allergy testing would help so you’d know exactly what to avoid? It could be something simple like the mulch or a particular plant.
