The Wing

So back to English Crewel… I finished the wing.

Wings finished on the Parrot

Of course now that I look at this picture I notice that it needs just one more stitch in the upper right hand corner.  I will get that next and then instead of finishing the beak and eye right this moment, I’m going to do some more acorns and leaves before I forget how.   I’m really enjoying this crewel piece and it’s just like painting with wool.  You should have seen all the ladies studying their canvases figuring out where to place their next stitch.  I look at the needle as a paint brush.

I didn’t get a chance to do any fiber anything today because Mom sent me home with a bunch of plants.  Of course we had to pull some weeds and trim some things back,  so DH and I spent the evening in the Garden of Evil — which is the name I feel it really deserves.  There we go, I always wanted a house with a name and now it has one.  Maybe I should have a sign made – Welcome to the Garden of Evil.

As promised I have to show you the two discontinued kits that I just had to have from the class.  This one I can see hanging on the wall of the bedroom and I jumped on it when I heard it was discontinued.

Summer Romance Kit

I know when I get into something.  I really get into it and I couldn’t pass this one up.  I can see it as a pillow and well since it was discontinued… it had to come home too.

Run! Rabbit Run!

  • Thanks so much for sharing your crewel work! I’ve always wanted to try it and you’re making me want to jump in. In fact, those two kits are so beautiful…and they’d go perfectly in my new living room…I’m off to “Google” them right now!

  • Hi! I LOVE your embroidery blog! Thank you for being such fun!
I have just finished up-dating my Jacobean long Pillowe instructions. I need new testrers (my last ones are now far too good at crewel and do not bneed step-by-step instructions. You are a brilliant proof reader, would you like to test it on your blog? All comments welcome.
    All the very best,
    Phillipa

Oooo, those are gorgeous kits! I think I like them even better than the parrot (which looks awesome so far).
