Zoe’s Fleece and Fiber Enchancement

So, I’ve been very busy this weekend, but I’m just going to take a moment to post a few goodies that were acquired Friday at the Midwest Folk and Fiber Festival and some serious stash enhancement by mail.

I’ll talk more about the festival and the classes later, but of course I found something delightful that had to come home with me.

This is a merino/silk blend. This colorway flew off the shelf and it was all gone by Friday afternoon.

I also picked up a new felting tool. I’ve been eyeballing this little gem for awhile to help get the bodies done quicker. I have to still get the mouse face done.

Last but not least – I just couldn’t resist one of these beautiful fleeces.

I saw a note come over the Spin-Sales group and went to check it out. It’s a covered cormo. Look at the crimp and lock formation. Gorgeous. This is Zoe’s Fleece from Sue at Cormo Sheep & Wool Farm. Sue was a pleasure to deal with and talk about super fast shipping. They have some more gorgeous fleeces available – so buy them up before I do. If you’re interested Sue has won many awards with these fleeces. I’m totally smitten and will be putting her on my list for next year as well.

I can’t wait to wash this beauty. I’m planning on washing this one myself and keeping it in lock form. I would like to dye up some locks and do some color blending for some marl yarns. Yes, I learned a new word today. 🙂

  • Oh my! We were at the fest on Friday too. If I’d known, we could have tried to meet:) My haul was less interesting than yours—just some sock yarn, but I was greatly tempted by a few other things–Briar Rose and Brooks Farm to name a few.

OMG…what a beautiful fleece…those locks are just luscious. The silk/merino roving rocks too!
